Pumpkins 20th Anniversary stuff Smashing Pumpkins announce 20th anniversary showsBilly Corgan and co. celebrate two decades Smashing Pumpkins are to celebrate their 20th anniversary with a set of special shows. The band, who reunited in 2006, will tour the US to mark the milestone. Writing on their website, the group said: "To celebrate the band's 20th anniversary, Smashing Pumpkins will be playing select US cities in August and September of 2008. "No dates or cities have been announced but expect the band to revisit a few specific places that were missed during the last US tour." Help!! So, I'm moving into a new room. The carpeting is a really dark green. I want a purple bed spread and purple and black... decorations I guess. I have white furniture, I can't afford to buy new stuff. And I don't like lavenders or light purples. I want bright purples. Soooo my question issss, what color should the walls be? I want a color that would compliment both the purple and the green and the white furniture. Any suggestions?? |

I am a 19-year Journalism student at Ryerson in Toronto, Ontario. I just finished first year and have returned to suburban southern Ontario for the summer. This is the room I live in, if it had cable and a bathroom I probably wouldn't ever leave. Amy Winehouse wins two Ivor Novello awards; turns up too late to receive them  Amy Winehouse won a songwriting "Oscar" today - but arrived too late to pick up her gong. The 24-year-old's father Mitch had to go on stage to collect her Ivor Novello for Best Song Musically and Lyrically on his daughter's behalf. T.I. fathers a MAY-JUH baby, remains sexy while doing so  Last week rapper T.I. and his longtime girlfriend singer Tameka "Tiny" Cottle welcomed Major Harris - a baby boy into the world. The artist shared details of the delivery day with MTV News, revealing his "hands-on" approach. "[Reports] said he was 5 pounds and 15 ounces," T.I. said of newborn Major. "That was wrong. He was actually 7 pounds and 4 ounces. I was in the O.R. Hands-on. I was trying to help. ... Tiny's all right. She's a soldier." Apparently, the rapper, real name Clifford Harris, isn't squeamish about being in the delivery room. American Idol Bull
"Idol" reject Josiah Leming signs with Warner Bros. Josiah Leming -- known as the teary-eyed "American Idol" contestant who just missed making it through the show's Hollywood audition rounds -- has signed with Warner Bros. Records.His booting from "Idol" came as a surprise, as the show's producers had invested a serious amount of time detailing his back-story. Leming, 17, left home to pursue a musical career and lived in his car as he tried to support his out-of-work father and ill mother. The Morristown, Tenn., native saw a surge of interest in his performances after his abrupt elimination, including appearances on Ellen DeGeneres' talk show and a story on MTV News. Leming will start recording his album this week, according to Warner Bros.,which signed him to both a recording and publishing deal.

American Idol Crushes Competition
 "American Idol" was huge Wednesday night. The two-hour season finale averaged 31.7 million viewers, according to preliminary ratings. Fox noted that the finale, which ran to 10:06, was up 3 percent in total viewers from last year. We'll probably see a bigger number when more accurate numbers come in Thursday afternoon.So Fox easily won the final night of the 2007-08 TV season. CBS placed a distant second with 10.8 million viewers for the night. CBS was second at 8 p.m. with "The Price Is Right" (7.7 million) and at 9 with "Criminal Minds" (nearly 13 million). CBS won the 10 p.m. slot with "CSI: NY" pulling 11.7 million to its season finale. In the same slot, NBC's "Law & Order" drew 8.5 million and ABC's "Boston Legal" arrested 6.4 million. Here's how the other networks fared in prime time: NBC with 6.3 million, ABC with 4.2 million and The CW with 1.7 million. Fox was way out in front among the 18-to-49 age group.
